Dr Jennifer Wilson
Jen is a Senior University Lecturer, with experience of leading Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation programmes. She has with over twenty years of experience in this industry. She holds a Professional Doctorate in Elite Performance, specialising in reducing injury risk in recreational runners. Her background as a Graduate Sport Therapist has equipped her to work with a wide range of clients, from recreational athletes to high-level performers, tailoring treatments to maximise recovery and performance.
Throughout her career, Jen has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams across sports organisations, healthcare settings, and elite training environments. Her extensive experience includes injury prevention, rehabilitation, sports massage, biomechanics, and performance enhancement. These experiences have allowed her to develop a holistic approach to individual care, integrating evidence based techniques with individualised treatment plans to optimise health and functional performance.
As a Senior Exercise and Health Practitioner, Jen plays a key role in designing and implementing evidence-based exercise programmes aimed at improving functional performance, managing chronic conditions, and enhancing overall health.
By combining her academic expertise with real-world coaching, Jen offers a unique perspective that enhances both her teaching and professional practice.

Dr Athalie Redwood-Mills
Athalie is a Level 3 CrossFit Coach and Senior University Lecturer who has been working in the Sport and Fitness industry since 1996. Having once been a high-performance athlete and a coach to athletes across the lifespan, Athalie has an extensive understanding of exercise prescription.
In 2012, she opened a Strength and Conditioning facility with her husband, which provides functional fitness classes and training to all abilities and ages. As an exercise specialist, she works alongside the public sector in providing exercise prescription and provision for those with Chronic disease, as well as consulting with local authority and community in this area.
After a number of years working and researching in high performance sport, Athalie has research interests which support her applied practical experiences in the field of disease prevention through exercise, functional training and rehabilitation. She has conducted research relating to the incidence, susceptibility and severity of COVID-19 in trained populations.
She holds the highest vocational qualifications in exercise prescription and has worked with a wide range of participants including; those in recovery from cancer, amputees, individuals with neurological disease and diabetic patients. Her work in this area helps to drive the FiiT for life programme, helping those with chronic diseases or at risk of diagnosis to improve their quality of life through functional physical activity.

Sarah Bonney-O'Connell
Bonney is a Level 2 CrossFit coach and co-owner of a box in Northampton. She also heads up ‘The Women’s Wellness Coach’ , a business dedicated to serving women from pregnancy to post-menopause. With over 25 years in health and fitness she holds a Level 5 in Clinical massage, a level 4 in Pilates as well as qualifications in Scar work, Diastasis and C-section recovery, Pelvic Health and Menopause.
She is passionate about spreading the positive impact physical fitness and wellbeing can have on women’s mental health, especially within the inclusive community environment that CrossFit provides.
